2011 Vacation, beginning May 31, 2011

Left Bedford yesterday (5/31) and drove to Tucumcari, NM. Took a last minute reservation at a Quality inn in Tucumcari, and it was absolutely one of the worst experiences. I use Choice Hotel chain almost exclusively, but that one was the worst. Also, having the Wife along was even more disappointing. They did cut the rate from $89. to $57. but still a letter to Choice will be forthcoming. 6/2, we arrived in Albuquerque. Room at the Comfort is very nice, and much cheaper with all the amenities we expect. I'm pleased; Jean pleased. Will audit Sysco NM for two days, then on to Farmington for Alexis graduation party.

She is still in remission - Praise the Lord

We had her scan yesterday. Her oncologist was sick at home, but has availability to log into the Southwest Medical Centers system. She read Jeanines scan and reported through her assistant that it was "beautiful". Jean volunteered to be in a 7tesa MRI clinical study. It is not to replace her current screenings or medical care, but significant changes are on the horizon in the MRI field and this could help thousands of others. Perhaps her too, as the detection of some nasty is even earlier that the 3tesa MRI.
Blessings for all your prayers.

She is still in Remission! Praise the Lord

Didn't get to see the money people at SW Medical. Supposed to be putting me in touch with "Dale", one of the social workers, that should get us to the correct party. Dr. Maher is helping make that happen. She couldn't read the bill either.

Taking wife for another MRI today.

Will visit with the $$ folks at SW Medical Center; pray for us.

Tax revelation

My business got stiffed for $4300.00 by a company that quit paying it's bills! Government says "if you havn't paid tax on the earnings, then you can't claim the loss". Situation is that the customer was only active during the tax year. Bottom line, is you do all the work for the folks, then they stiff you, and you can't claim anything as a loss. Just does'nt seem fair. Especially since the tax rate for self employed folks is just about 33% of AGI. But, you can't deduct any of the above.

Insurance revelation

Unicare Insurance will not, and has not paid for any of wife's every-two-months MRI scans. $2500. each - I think 5 of them. Their max for imaging was $300.00. Ouch!

New Record for gasoline

Had to pay $3.459 today at Racetrac. The cheapest around here. We are going to Oklahoma City on Saturday next; have filled the Suburban. Just under $100.00. Will not quite make the round trip to Edmond and back. Lost two customers. Concerned, and being very cautious. Wifes medication rose from monthly cost of $225. to $275. Ouch. Mine too. Trig. tooooooo high. Dr. Changing medications $248. for three month supply of the new drugs. Crestor and Niaspan

I give our Police Chief credit. I was rather abrasive in asking how much and what is the benefit of the crimereports.com, that we were informed of this weekend. At 8:15 this morning he called me, advising the cost is $99.00 per month, no clerical costs, and he felt the benefits were "knowledge". There are several sides to this, but I appreciate his call.
